I don't live in WA anymore but I can brew the beer from there.
First brew ever is in the secondary. I wrote the recipe myself. American Pale Ale partial mash. Tasted a sample at the bottom of the primary during racking. Tasted rough but had the hops character I wanted.

it's in the secondary with an oz. of Cascade whole hops.

extract seemed too easy so I built a mini mash tun and generated a recipe on Tastybrew.com/calculator. I hit my gravity on the nose but assumed 60% brewhouse efficiency with the batch sparge. I cant wait to bottle it.

I just made a 5 gal mash tun and converted a keg for HLT/brew pot. Machine shop is now building me a conicle and 3-tier sculpture. I can't get enough of this. Brewing has been a long time coming.

Welcome, from some who IS in the NW. Good to have you on the board. Wher did you live in WA?
