I discovered homebrewing from a neigbor who had been brewing for about 14 years. He was brewing an all grain batch. I spent the day with him playing guitar, smokin' ribs, and brewing beer.

The process blew my mind. Yet this guy just took care of business and made it look too easy. He sent me home with a Charlie Papazian book. I drank a lot great homebrew with him, much of which were German, so I don't remember their names. However, the book stayed on my shelf for 5 years. I moved and met yet another neigbor who brews. So I decided to try it myself.

I have brewed a couple of batches, an Imperial IPA, and American Pale Ale, and have bottle a Rocky Raccoon Ale, one of Papazian's recipes.

Glad to finally be here. With a few brews under my belt, I have began to work out a system and am obsorbing more and more with every batch.

Looking forward to sharing my mistakes and getting your thoughts.

Howdy from up in Raleighwood.

You've found a great new hobby, one where your work is definitely rewarded...and you've come to right place for some great advice.

Welcome to another brewer in NC, looks like you are up to a great start already!

Hey, From SC! Add some coriander to the rocky raccoon recipe and WOW it becomes something "special". it's the base for my HCL (honey coriander "steam" Lager) won some awards with that one!
