Hi, I justed finished my second batch, a Belgian Carmel Wit.
My first was an IPA, turned out great.
Anyway, what I did, without even thinking about it, was taste a little sample that I pulled from the cooled wort, then I dumped it into my yeast mix (I used dry yeast, warm it up about 30 min before pitching, and add a little of the wort about 10 min before dumping it into the carboy)
About 5 min later I realized that I totally drank(sipped) from the container that had the wort in it, then dumped it into my yeast.
I know that our mouths are pretty much chock full of bacteria (who brushes twice a day?), so I'm wondering if I am gonna be in trouble with contamination now.
Please let me know your thoughts, thanks
Nick

Just went and checked on it, and I have activity after just 4 hours.
swirling and bubbling a little already...

Thats what I figured, definitely wasnt gonna dump it, just hoped someone had done the same thing before, and could let me know how it turned out.
thanks ACbrewer!

well often bacteria requires specific conditions to live. I'm not sure if your mouth compares favorably or not with wort/beer. PH levels are different, as are a bunch of other things.

Your beer will be just fine. I always start my siphons with my mouth with no adverse effects for over 2 years. Although I do brush, floss and use mouthwash regularly:D

Thanks Clann, I appreciate your input!
I'm surprised at the activity already, I've had good luck with the dry yeast so far...
