I just had a stuck sparge and had to run two gallons through a strainer and when I pulled a sample for a reading I noticed I had quite a bit of grain in my wort. What do you guys think? Am I screwed or should I continue?

I know I won't get a good reading with grain in my hydrometer tube!

Sorry, no one got here in time to help. I would have tried to strain as much out as possible, maybe through a muslin bag or something similar before the boil.

I'm straining through cheese cloth from kettle to primary. Hope it works. I need a better manifold.

It should. My only concern would be boiling too much grain. Did you have a lot of adjuncts or is it just a crappy manifold?

Not sure, I had 9.5 lbs of grain. I think my manifold is kind of shi$$y.

I am concerned about tannins from too much grain in the kettle, but time will tell I guess.

My first all grain wasn't a total disaster; I learned quite a bit. I just hope this comes out decent.
