To those who have made this before, I ask for some help. Tomorrow Ill be picking up ingradiants which I ordered.

6.6 lbs Bavarian Wheat LME 3.3 lb .
German Hallertauer Hop 1oz
Saaz Hops 1 oz pkg
Danstar Munich Wheat beer yeast (dry)
19 litre of water

How many blood oranges should I use? How long do i need to boil them before adding it to my wort? and how much zest should i put into the beer?

Also I forgot to buy coriander, so can i just use stuff from the supermarket? How much would I need to add? and do i add it to the boil? or to the fermentator?

any idea of the OG/SG

When I add the fruit, will it float on top of my wort and go moldy (eww nasty) how can i prevent this.

Any and all advice is appreciated, I have never made a wheat beer and this is my first full boil recipe.

Cheers.

Your recipe looks similar to what I did. You only use the zest from the oranges and add them at either knockout or "dry-hop" in the secondary. Use a muslin or fine nylon bag to hold all the orange zest and coriander, you don't want to ferment on the peel like I did. It'll get real bitter.

thank you for the post, I may consider using marmalade as it will be easier then real fruit.

The other recipe I believe calls for using much more zest, which they put into the fermentator. IM guessing adding it to the end of the boil will make it less fruity

I think the marmalade thing is a waste. the sugars will ferment, and you are just left with orange zest in the marmalade. So, just add orange zest. It's really easy. Buy an orange and run it along the "fine side" of a grater (or better yet, get a little 99 cent zester tool). Takes about 2 minutes to do an orange. It is not what I could call one of the "hard things" in my life. I even have the good fortune of having oranges growing in front of my house year round :)

Will adding the actualy fruit into my fermenter go moldy oldy on me? Originally my plan was to add the fruit and zest together.

thanks for ur input!
