I'm having guests in a few hours, and I've been working on making cocktails.

I had bought a little six pack of club soda, with 10 oz bottles, but since I'm making Tom Collins-ish drinks and filling the tall glasses with that soda, it's gone!

I have a 2L bottle of cold, good tasting water, and I want to carb it up with my carbonator cap.

Is club soda spritzy and highly carbed like soda (30 psi) or is it more like beer at 12 psi? I can quick carb it, but I have no idea how carbed up it's supposed to be!

Help!

Its pretty spritztly. More carbonated than beer. Appreciably so but not so much that it hurts.

I make club soda all the time. Chill the water first, use 30 psi, and shake for 2 minutes

Thank you all so much! It turned out fine, although the club soda from the bottle that was left was more carbonated than my 30 psi at 40 degrees. It still worked out great- so thank you!

I'll have to try a higher carb level for next time.

what was great is that some people wanted to drink club soda, so I had plenty for that as well.

I ended up making modified Tom Collins type drinks- and even the manliest men were drinking pink drinks (a bit of maraschino cherry juice, since I don't have much with sugar on hand). I told my daughter's boyfriend (tall, dark, handsome muscle type) that real mean drink pink fizzy drinks. He seemed to like it alot for a predinner drink, but then asked for a homebrew. :D

If I was dating Yooper's daughter I'd ditch the pink fizzy drinks and be drinking a Yooper's homebrew!

Oh, he did! But he drank the pink fizzy drink first.

It's rarely hot here, but it was about 80 degrees and I had lemon in it, and it really was refreshing.

And, after he left, other friends stopped over and the keg of galaxy pale ale I had at the cottage is now history!
