Help!!! No Bubbles During Fermentation

So last weekend I brewed my first batch with a buddy, a Rye Ale from a kit using the malt extract and hop pellets etc. He says that there have been no bubbles this week (it is currently in its 4th day). I have read a post here saying that amount of bubbling does not correlate to amount of fermentation happening but if there is no bubbling that is a problem right? Any suggestions on what went wrong? We are fermenting at a consistent 66 degrees.
 
No bubbling may not be a problem, lid could be leaking air so unless you get hydrometer readings that are off what is expected I wouldn't worry about it. Wait until it has been fermenting for a week and check it with a hydrometer.
 
might be an air leak somewhere in the fermentation vessel you are using. Perhaps a lid not secured tightly or a leaky lid. My first brew was like that, didn't bubble thru the air lock much/at all until I reseated the lid (following sanitation guidelines and such of course.)

What kind of fermenter are you using. My ale pails bubble like crazy. When I use my Lowes buckets, they barely bubble at all.
 
i gotta agree with the posters above - my go-to bucket didn't bubble at all this past batch so it's gonna be retired to bottling only use. good lids make all the difference.
 
Could be an under pitch on the yeast also.
Lots of reasons why it could be doing what it's doing.

Don't worry about it, just keep an eye on it and maybe monitor the gravity.
 
Check the gravity and compare it to SG. Easiest way to see if there's been fermentation or not. You could just have a bad seal on your fermentation vessel. No need to panic before you're sure there's a problem.
