Completely new to home brewing and I have a few questions; any help would be most appreciated!
I have bought the 1 Gallon Wine Kit from Wine-Art and although they supply step-by-step instructions, I am still a little lost.
First question: they provide you with a small packet labeled Cleaner/Steriliser, however there are absolutely no instructions on what to do with this. I understand that this is suppose to be used to sanitize and clean the equipment before use but do you add it to hot or cold water and how much water should be added?
Second question: the airlock comes with a red cap attached to the top of it; should this be removed to allow the gas to pass or is it suppose to stay on during the process?
Once again, any help/tips would be great, especially from anyone who has tried out these kits!
