I've been getting some pretty good fermentations going on with one of the following three happening:
-The airlock gets clogged several times
-the lid vents itself
-the lid completely blows off
I'd like to keep the lid on! I'd appreciate any help/suggestions. Thanks:tank:

Blow. Off. Tube.

Just stick a piece of tubing on the tube of the airlock and stick it in a growler of star san, boom blow off tube

+1 to the blow off tube. Also, are you fermenting really warm? Sometime that will give you a too vigorous fermentation.

tape the lid shut with duck tape(and plug the hole).................I would love to see a "BUCKET BOMB"!!:D

.............. +1 as above!

I brew mostly pale ales. Thanks for the suggestion on the blow off tube. I'll go that direction. Do they ever get clogged?

I've never had one clog, but I have had to give it a thorough cleaning. Even had it bubble up through the bottle I keep the solution in. That only happened once though. So now I keep the container in a container.

A tube is a great idea that you don't generally have to worry about.

I really doubt it will clog because the pressure it takes to blow off a lid should push anything through the tube. It also adds an element of entertainment to watch krausen push through the tube

I've seen a few people mention that they've seen small ID blowoffs clog before. Use the largest ID tube you can for your blowoff. It should still definitely be less resistive than the freaking lid of your bucket though so i can't imagine the lid would ever lift off.
