Hey guys, I am hosting a brew meeting for our local brew club next month and the topic is meads. I am the most experienced in the group with meads, I know there is plenty to talk about but I wanted to get some ideas from you guys. What are some questions you'd want answered in a club meet?

I would cover SNA. I think that has helped my meads tremendously. If you have time maybe discuss SNA vs TOSNA. I need to research that better myself. I just did my first batch using TOSNA so I guess we'll see in a few months.

thanks Sarge... I've been on a brewing break for a while due to moving. TOSNA wasn't something I'd heard of officially but had thought about after experimenting with the BOMM mothods and getting great results (though not as fast as the BOMM standard). Think I'll make a dry mead in the next day or so following TOSNA and discuss that at the meet. Looking over the information at http://www.meadmaderight.com/info.html I could probably make this into an app to fill out your brew details and have it calculate exactly what you need. Think there would be any interest in something like that?

I think it would be important to go over Timelines for Meads, they can take very long after all and it can be frustrating for someone who maybe has no experience.

That would be cool.

Its not polished but here is what I was able to cobble together with the help of a friend for the math.
http://lejnd.ddns.net/TOSNA/

Note that the way the formula works for fermaid-o if your OG is below 1.053 then it states negative values for needed fermaid-o. This does correlate with meadmaderight though anything below 13 brix shouldn't need any fermaid-o according to his math there. Let me know if this is incorrect and I will try and account for that in the more polished version. *off to learn some php*
