Ok, so far I have brewed 4 alcoholic beverages as outlined below. I like experimenting and coming up with my own recipes or modifying a kit rather than just brew by the numbers. I also tend to like hoppier beers (Scotch ales being a big exception). I currently brew extract and steeped grains, but may be able to pull off a partial mash brew, not sure if I am ready for that yet.

So, I am looking for cool ideas for my next beer. As a side note, in march I am probably going to a St. Patties day party where one of the hosts is a home brewer, so I may want something good to take (hopefully I will have some of my current scotch ale to take too). I am thinking maybe an Irish Red, but I do not really know the style well. So tell me what you would do, and I wil keep you updated as to what I pick and how it goes!

Brews to date:
  1. Pale Ale (heavily modified Mr. Beer kit, split in two, one half dry hopped)
  2. Imperial Amber Ale (From scratch recipe, very heavy beer, didn't carb well but was delicious)
  3. Hard Cider (not beer, but came out very well)
  4. Scotch Ale aged on JD whiskey barrel chips (still carbing up, but tasty as hell)

Personally what I usually do is go through the recipes here and over on Beersmith2 and try to find something that sounds good and go from there.
