wait a second, you live in california. You arent allowed to fart, sneeze, turn on a light switch without getting government approval. You probably need an environmental impact statement and atleast 45 permits before you hook that tank up to a fossil fuel burning device. I bet they want scrubbers put on all your sewer vents along with any appliance that emits carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, methane. :D cheers gotta give ya a hard time

Yeah no &*$#

I know, right! :(

Lastly, I can't imagine how fast your going to go through that 20# tank. Seems like filling it up all the time will get to be pricey.
According to a web search it only takes about 15-25 gal of propane to run a dryer for a year. That's why we are not going the route of having a propane co come out and bring a tank. You have tank rental, they charge you to pressure test it and then at mesa here where we live, you have to fill it the first time they come out. We have NOTHING else that's propane so we are gonna go th 30 gal tank route

As stated many times for the OP - be very careful. If you are unsure, call in a professional. Gas can go BOOM!

We had a professional run iron pipe to our laundry dryer and new kitchen range last year. Took a week to find and fix all of the leaks. Wife was decidedly nonplussed about it...

Digging a 3" wide trench, 18" deep, for 100 feet is a PITA. Renting a trencher for a 15 minute job, then cleaning and returning it is a waste of time and money. Plumber will either already have the trencher, or will have a grunt start digging while he goes and gets the parts from the supply house..

Confirmed - had to dig a line for electric conduit from my house to my garage for a future upgrade before I had a slab patio poured. Was not fun and I do not recommend it. Only reason I DIY'd it was because we have several electricians in the family to do the wiring later, and the patio guys were coming in a couple of weeks.

I work for a company that provides bobtail LP delivery service and repair to almost 1000 customers and there are much better choices for indoor gas plumbing than black iron pipe.

Right. But even there you have to know wtf you're doing. My oldest son had a tech replace an iron home run for his dryer with CSST. In NJ (and MA) code requires a ground wire from the CSST to the street side of the gas meter. No such wire was installed so I did it and skipped the call-back.

Hard to find good help these days ;)

Cheers!

The dryer is coming out of a home behind me that has been running the appliance for over a year. The conversion was done by the reseller locally (no natural gas in our area, we all have to import LP).

I don't think you guys understand the original question any more...

Nevermind, I'm hooked up. Thank you for your... safety concerns.

I would like to know how you did this. I’m wanting to do the same thing.
