Hey guys new to brewing and one week away from my smashing pumpkin ale being ready. Tastes great but now getting ready to keg and slight issue. Purchased the nostalgia 2100 and it is designed for Commercial kegs. Is it worth it just to figure out how to use a Sanky or should I try to convert to the other? Not sure what to do and any help is greatly appreciated

It all depends on if you are planning on brewing anything near 15 gallons at a time. Easy enough to get sanke kegs at that size, not so much for ball lock/pin lock kegs.

5 gallon cornies would be perfect. "Conversion" consists of disconnecting the beer and gas lines from the Sanke fitting and terminating them with appropriate disconnects for the style of keg you will be using - either ball lock or pin lock. The one I did required one additional step because it had a very short beer line. I replaced the beer line with 10 feet of 3/16" tubing to permit serving at my desired carbonation pressure (12psi).

Also - as the kegerator is sized for a 1/2bbl Sanke keg it will easily accept two 5 gallon cornies so it would be very simple to add a second tap and serve two kegs.

Very easy to change it over from Sanke D to ball lock/pin lock. As stated above, there will be plenty of room for two 5 gallon corny kegs. They are much easier to work with than the Sanke D are (cleaning and filling).

Definitely make sure to look into "balancing" the system. There are spreadsheets that are pretty easy to find online to ensure you can get the right length of line for your temperature and pressure. Save yourself a headache now. The 4-5' of line the kegerator came with will pour nothing but foam. Replace with probably ~10' (confirm with aforementioned calculator).
