Help in Seattle

Is there anyone on the forum in the greater Seattle area that is qualified to do the welding for the couplers on a keggle? If not, does anyone in the Seattle area know a good welder? I need to find someone to help me with my keggle project. I am willing to pay a reasonable rate, and/or throw in some beer, mine or commercial, to get this done. I am just about out of homebrew, and dying to start brewing again, but I need to get this keg converted so that I have a brew kettle, as my old kettle cracked on me.

Nope, I'm not qualified to do the welding... BUT I just had couplings welded into two keggles the week before last.

If you live near downtown or West Seattle, then Weld & Design on Delridge (in West Seattle) works well. That's who I used a couple weeks ago. He got me in and out of there in about an hour for 4 couplings on two kegs. I think my total charge was like $60.

Yep, the guy's name is James and I think he did a pretty good job on mine. I thought the price was pretty decent too.

Thanks! I did all the stand fabrication.

However, with my little 120V AC wire fed welder, I didn't feel that I had 1) the skill or 2) the proper equipment to weld the couplings into the kegs.

Brewed my first batch on it Thursday after work (Heffe) and it went pretty well. Only complaint is that some of the grain got under my MLT's false bottom and caused some circulation issues from time to time. I figure I'll run several more batches through it to see how it goes before I change anything.

I looked and can't find the business card for the welder, but I'll PM you the info that I think is his, from my cell phone.

I know of a gentleman in Kent that does just that, and he owns a homebrew supply store as well!
Larry's Brewing Supply is on 212th (7405 S. 212th, suite 103) in Kent and he does some AMAZING stuff for homebrew rigs. It appears that their website is defunct, but I was just there last week and they're still operating. Only about 20 mins from your area!!

I actually do most of my purchasing at Larry's, but I had no idea that he does welding work also. As to the website, yes, I had noticed that too, but had not been in recently to ask them about it. Being that I am a web applications developer by trade, I was going to ask if there was anything that I could do to help them. Now maybe I can offer to trade a little work

Yeah, that will be perfect. I love going into Larry's, get my supplies, chat with his wife, that place is awesome. I will have to go down there and find out what he will charge me to weld that up for me
