 this was my first AG batch. one day after I moved to my secondary I can see some light blue/gray stuff floating on the top of the beer. what can I do to check the beer for an infection.
Thanks

freeze jack! i've seen some really weird stuff floating on top of my beer and none to date have been infected. seriously - assuming you did everything right and assuming you didn't slip on your sanatation, i say let it age and bottle it. you're already brought it this far - what's a little while longer to wait and an hour or so bottling?

I've seen blue grey material on top of mine too, but it came from the yeast cake in the bottom of my primary. When i looked at the bottom of my primary before the yeast cake had diffrent layers of color : biege , grey, blue all muted though. If it is fuzzy like bread mold then it is the wrong type of fungus and possibly bad. See if you can gently and cleanly remove it w/ yor siphon or something. Or just leave it.
