Hi, I'm new and look forward to assimilating all the useful information! :rockin:

Welcome!

Three suggestions from someone who is also relatively new to this:

1. Patience.

2. Sanitize.

3. Follow established recipes and procedures at first, until you get the process down. I think it's worth doing an extract recipe the first few times to make sure you understand that part of the enterprise.

PS: Assuming you have a Wal-Mart nearby or similar, get one of their small spray bottles. My local WM has them with the sample sizes/travel sizes. Fill with sanitizer solution, then use that to spray anything not easily or conveniently immersed in sanitizer solution.

My sanitizer bottle is green; I also have a blue one for water, which I use to spray the top of the boil when it looks like it's thinking about boiling over.

Thank you, that is good advice! :)

Good on you for joining.

However: I can't figure out what your Avatar says. Now you know why mine is only five words long. :)

You must not be a "Trekkie": it's from Star Trek, 10-Forward is the lounge/bar on the Enterprise. It's on level 10, all the way at the front of the ship for the best view of the stars while people drink their synthehol. The av is a layout describing just that.

:)

Aldebaran whiskey , Klangon Blood Wine.

Any whiskey is better than no, I say.

That blood wine, though... the Klingons can have it.
