My son and I are thinking about starting to brew beer and thought this may be a good place to get started ! Haven't brewed anything yet just getting everything together but looking forward to the process!

Welcome. My son is 8 and he is the best assistant brewer that I could ask for. In a few more years he'll be old enough to taste the spoils.

What part of WI? I have family in Racine.

I'm from beautiful west central wi.north of hwy 8 south of hwy 70 and west of hwy 53 my son is 24 so hopefully we will be enjoying our brew together!

Brewing is 90% cleaning and heating water, and waiting. If you can do those 3 things I would highly suggest it. You can make great beer with a 10$ home depot bucket and lid, and and two $11 4-gallon brew pots from walmart trust me.

From what I have read and seen its not that hard as long as you are meticulous about following instructions and procedures! I think we will have fun with it and should be a good bonding experience for my son and I!

Living in what is truly Northern WI (north of highway 8, just off highway 13)

I have very good friends (who also brew) just north of Butternut, also just off of highway 13. I get over there every summer, often more than once, and bring at least one keg. They live in the Glidden area, June through October, and are pretty good brewers. So I'm familiar with that area, and love brewing with them!
