Hello from where its not warm

Hi, this is my second post and I felt i should introduce myself before I go back to lurking.

I took last winter off from brewing but I'm up to 5, 5 gal batches so far this year. Mostly kits but I've tweaked a few recipes I've come across on my own lately and have been pleasantly surprised. The one I've tried was a dunkelweizen, it was really dark not too high in alcohol and good.

I want to get into all grain but need to figure out the equipment end of things first.

Guess thats it. Wait I should mention how great my wife is for dealing with the three fermenters she has to trip over to get to the couch.

Welcome turbo, and you could always tell swmbo that those are not just fermenters, they are also obstacles in the Agility Skills Enhancement Course. Makes them sound all . . . um . . . special like.

Welcome cool dude. It's rather cool here to. All the better to Lager with my dear. I'm also a Dunkelweisen fan. I just finished draining a keg of Dunkel. It was an all grain clone of the Erdinger Dunkelweisen and likely the closest to form I've achieved with a beer.

Unfortunately today there was a casualty while brewing a british ale. I broke a sentimental item we got on our honeymoon to puerto vallarta. Its a stove top item thing you put your spoon on while cooking- dont really know what to call it. But its funky mexican pottery. Anyway It was not a good thing, wow did I feel bad. Think I can repair it, keep my fingers crossed...

You'll be a happier brewer the sooner you're out of the kitchen. Save your pennies ask for Christmas gifts, tool up to get off the stove and out of the bath tub. Buy her something nice.

There's a special culinary term for those things: spoon rests.

If you don't have access to a kiln, super glue will do the job. I've even put a handle back on a coffee mug with it.

Our cold weather is probably over for the winter. Once the rains start, it rarely goes below freezing.
