Hello all. Been reading some of the great info for a while here to help me get started. Tried to home brew many years ago (15) and didn't end up with very good results. Decided to try it again, but this time did lots of learning before hand. Brewed my first batch yesterday, and got my next three on order. Starting small with 1 gallon brews first, but plan to move to either 3 gallon boil in bag or go to 5 gallon in the future, not sure yet.

Welcome (back) to the hobby, and welcome to the group, from CO :mug: I love 3G batches, enough beer to make it worthwhile, but not so much you can't experiment and toss the occasional batch.

Hey Dave, Also in W. PA, and usually do 3-4 gallon batches. Love using the PA winter temps to chill the wort. Good Luck and Cheers! :mug:

We used to live in Western PA, Harmony Township, on top of a mountain. Good huntin' & trout fishin'! I do pb/pm biab with the same 5 gallon kettle I started with. This sort of set-up would make 3 or 5 gallon batches easy! You could easily do 3 gallon AG, or PM 5 gallon.
