Hey All!
I found this site a couple of days ago and decided right away I wanted to be a part of it. As I look around I realize I'm going to feel right at home here; I think half the population of this forum is from Michigan!
I tried brewing beer about 8 years ago and made a few nice batches. I quit because I realized I really didn't drink that much beer and thought it might be going to waste. I've always wanted to get back into it but wasn't really ready.
This summer a couple of guys had a beer brewing demonstration going on in the park, so I went to see what they were doing. They were brewing with grains, and I had only done extracts. They were very nice (of course!), and I learned a lot from them. One of my coworkers showed up, and she asked about 1000 questions. I learned a ton listening to that Q&A also. At work she talks brewing with me quite a bit, so now I've got the brewing bug again. I'm glad; I missed brewing beer.
I just brewed up a clone recipe kit from Austin Homebrew the other day. Now I'm sweating out the fermentation process. (I don't think it's ever gone well for me.) Thus the "hope to percolate" name. Happily, it seems to be going quite well.
So there you have it. Yet another Michibrewer!
