Hello everybody I'm Joey. This past Christmas I received the Brooklyn Brewshop Everyday IPA kit from my sister. I've been doing some research because as usual she gave me a white elephant and I wanted to make sure I had everything correct before I started brewing. My travels through the internet has brought me here so I hope to learn alot.

Hi and welcome.
Is that Alamo City in the RGV?

If yes, there is a home brew club that meets in Weslaco. I just found out about it but have not met up with them yet. Maybe next month (this months meeting was last night). Boarder Brewers on Facebook.

In any event, lots of knowledge and help is available on this site.

I am in Harlingen.

Good luck!

Nope San Antonio :) . The kit didn't come with any bottles, caps or capper and I need a strainer so until I get paid I'm doing research.

I am in the valley and there is no LHBS here. San Antonio has Home Brew Party which is pretty good, and you are also close to Austin Homebrew, also good.

If you have spent much time here you have likely already read to throw away the instructions that came with your kit and do "this" instead. Good advice.

Equipment wise other than bottles and caps, you will need a carboy or bucket for fermentation, a hydrometer, 8 gallon SS pot, auto siphon, bottling bucket, bottling wand, and a bottle capper.

Good luck.

Well the Everyday IPA kit comes with the 1 gallon ferment container, plug, airlock, racking cane, tubing and clamp, sanitizer, thermometer, yeast and grains. Also I have a whole bunch of large SS pots so that's not a problem.

I checked out Homebrew Party and it seemed like the folks were knowledgeable. The guy was busy because apparently their website got hacked. Ill probably get the bottles there
