Hello HBT members,
let me start by saying what a GREAT site!!! I been wanting to try out home brewing for a long time now. I just recently picked up my fisrt HB kit and had my fisrt brew session eight days ago (1/23/2011). I made a American IPA (extract kit) that I picked up at my local HBS and can't wait to taste the final product!

Cheers,
Tony.

Didnt see this till now sorry for the late response but Welcome. I'm in La Mesa what part of SD are you in?

Welcome! Another San Diegan! I am from the Clairmont area about 5 mins from Ballast Point/Home Brew Mart! I recently got back into home brewing. Seems like lots of people from San Diego are here. I am down at BP on a regular basis for tastings, supplies and fills. Did you catch the Ballast Point event last Thursday? Was pretty good, all the beers were spiced up with different peppers and the gourmet food truck was using the beers in each item served. And the Mango, Beer, Chile yogurt from next door was pretty tasty! I think it was the porter in it or could have been the Wahoo in there.

Damn, I knew I forgot something last week. I meant to go to it as I was just in there the day before getting brewing supplies. Maybe next time. I really wish they would do some sort of Home Brew event there.

that's funny i live in the clairemont area as well and visit BP/HBM every week. i missed last weeks event but saw the pictures they posted on FB, i won't miss the next one!!! i tried the chipotle tounge buckler, man that has some kick to it! also tried the chipotle black marlin, much smoother finish...

Man the tounge buckler has a nice bite to it with out the pepper but that just took it to a whole different level. I am in there on a regular basis my self at least once or more a week. I will be there in the next day or two to fill up for the weekend. If you ever see a guy walk in with a growler Koozie with a Sculpin IPA sticker on it that should be me, say hi if you notice it. My brother in law made them and kindly handed me one. His brother is in there regularly too with koozied growlers as well so it could be one of them but mine should be the only one with sculpin sticker on it.

We should plan an HBT BP invasion with the SD folks and set up an event or something with them.

I was just there today getting my grains for a Oktoberfest I plan to brew in the next couple days. Totally agree with an invasion for the next event:mug:.

Any San Diegans heading to Stone's Winter Storm today? I will be heading up around 11
