i'm not sure what took me so long to register but i figured it was definitely time. after borrowing a wine kit a couple years ago and making a reisling, i hadn't put much more thought into brewing since the sanitizing part of wine making was a huge pain.
then my buddies and i began the talk again of brewing our own beer since we seem to drink so dang much of it. i was beat to the punch by my friend whose first brew was a tasty nut brown ale. not to be outdone, i soon followed with my first batch of homebrew, being a mandarin orange wheat. then i did an american pale ale, which turned out quite well. i've only done extract brewing and i'm still bottling due to the fact that i don't have kegging funds.
by the time i was ready to brew my 3rd batch, it had become too hot here in phoenix for me to try to keep anything at a fermentable temperature. however, i came across these here forums and EdWort's Apfelwein and figured i'd give it a go. 5 months later, it's quite tasty and i'm now getting the itch to brew another beer.
just wanna say thank you to everyone on here from whom i've already learned so much just by lurking. i can't wait to brew another batch!
