Hello from Omaha

Just got started in brewing and very new to the forum; found it last night! I live in Omaha, Nebraska and am currently retired. I received one of those very basic brew kits, Mr. Beer, and did a couple of batches. They turned out OK, but lacked something. I received a couple of brewing books for Christmas and I think I want to get some better equipment and ingredients to do a better job. I need to go thru the forum to find out what I can and I'll be back with some specific questions.

I used to live in Omaha, I miss it immensely, in fact I'll probably end up retiring there.

Anyway, congrats on the decision to graduate from Mr. Beer. You could easily brew up some pretty good beer by making only a few minor changes. Steep some grains, use some fresh extract, and a good yeast, and you'll be in love!

You can even use some of your Mr. Beer equipment to start out!

Hello Mike,

I too am from Omaha. My neighbor and I started brewing about a year ago and just love it. We are just some young guy that love beer but if you ever want to drink some home brew just let me know. We alway like to drink/talk beer with some new folks.
