Hey ya'll. I just last weekend started my first batch (I.P.A.) with a starter kit that I purchased from a local homebrew store. Great place, by the way. Allseasons Brewing Supply. Check them out if you are ever in or around Nashville. Lots of great stuff (wine making and gardening too) and very friendly, helpful people. Anyway...started my first batch of I.P.A. last weekend and was planning on racking into a secondary carboy after 7-10 days. Also planning on dry hopping with a couple of ounzes of cascade to give it some extra hoppy aroma. Gonna leave it in the secondary for about 2 weeks before bottling and letting it sit for another three weeks. I guess that would be the 1-2-3 method. But...I'm a total newbie, so please let me know if that's not correct. I realize there are a ton of different methods...time in primary, secondary vs. no secondary, etc etc. But, as this is my first time, I just decided to give the 1-2-3 method a go and see what happens. I'll let y'all know how it turns out.
I've had a ton of questions so far, and I've been able to find the answers to just about everything on this site! :rockin: Y'all rock! :rockin:
So far, it's been a blast. I'm already thinking about my next brew, and also giving some thought to kegging next time. Anyway...great website here! As a newbie, I really appreciate having the forum to ask questions and get some ideas on how to do things!
Cheers!
