hello from MI

hello all,
guess ill start w/ a simple introduction. I am 21 years old and just began to develop an interest in brewing. went to the local shop today and picked up "the complete joy of home brewing, 3rd edition" by Charlie Papazian, and decided to take a look at what i am getting myself into. My father is a avid beer fan and i have developed a taste for a variety of lagers and ale's thus far. i plan to pick up my kit next week and hopefully get started right away. i am looking forward to a new hobby that my father and i can enjoy and perhaps meet some good friends along the way.
