I'm a US ex-pat living in Manaus, Brazil. It is a city in the middle of the Amazon jungle. Unfortunately, only light pilsner beers are commonly available here. Well, there are imports, but they cost $8 a bottle, and up.
For that reason, I started brewing my own beer. I started with a couple of extract kits that I brought from the US. Unfortunately, I can't find extract kits in Brazil. I was able to find a supplier of all grain kits, so I have started learning how to brew from all grain.
This board has been a great help. After lurking for a while, I joined so that I can asked questions.
I'm looking forward to learning more from all the experience out there.
