Hello, I'm 28, married with a 2 year old and an 8 month old. I'm a full time firefighter, part time auto part delivery driver, and a medic in the Army National Guard. I got my first 1 gallon brewing kit for Christmas last year, and since then have gotten my buddy into this addiction. After a couple 1 gallon batches not producing enough, I've recently increased my capabilities to 5 gallons. I'm wanting to venture into all grain soon but still feel like I need a few more extract batches to get the feel for it. I've also been making wine for the wife in between brews. It's all been a lot of fun so far

Welcome to community and obsession from CT! I personally jumped right into all grain! Don't be scared to make the jump! Do your research, watch some YouTube videos and go for it! Nothing easier than starting with BIAB get your feet wet with all grain!

Thanks. I'm actually about to head to my local home brew store (is there an abbreviation for that on the forum?) and see about getting into that. He seems strait forward and hasn't tried to just sell me stuff. He's given some good advice so far and even told me about some good online deals that he isn't able to beat in store.

I love doing 2.5G batches. Enough to be worthy of the effort, but easily done without bringing out my full brew system (that does 10-15G batches).

I'm putting together everything I need to do my first all grain batch, but since I'm on a tight budget, I'm trying to do as much DIY as I can.
