Hello from Juneau, AK

Just wanted to stop in and say hello.

I have been making wine and mead for some time, but am new to beer brewing, with only a braggot and a Bock so far made. Actually, I am a new returnee to beer overall. Prior to tonight, I had my last beer on the 31st of January, 1999, disappointedly waiting for the end of the world due to Y2K . Wine however, has never been far from my lips. Tonight though, I am drinking a nice Deschutes Brewery Mirror Pond Pale Ale and Black Butte Porter. Fun!

Welcome! Be fortunate that you can get Deschutes brews in Juneau. I can't get them in Nebraska.

Welcome to the boards. I think I can help you in your situation. Get over to Skagway and walk to the end of main st to the last building on the right (Skagway brewing co), walk in and order a spruce tip ale. You will forget that wine ever existed.

I am going to have to try spruce tip ale. I have heard a lot about it, just have been sort of leery of trying it. My daughters ex-boyfriend has made it in the past, but I was thinking - Spruce - . Maybe this weekend a trip to Skagway (then Whitehorse) for Labor Day.
