Hello,

Started on my 2nd brew and after many weeks of browsing through this wonderful form, I've finally decided to join up! Looking forward to making a many wonderful brew.

Welcome. This place is where I learned to brew. I still haven’t brewed anywhere else. Next thing you know, you’ll be making mead and wine too.
Cheers

Hi there Gizmo...
There's been increased interest lately in farmhouse type brews from Finland and the surrounding area.
Modern versions are produced by commercial brewers, but the older traditional recipes are what interest me as a home brewer. Any home brewers making traditional Finland farmhouse brews want to share their recipes?

Cheers! Thanks for the warm welcome! I’ll definitely keep this forum up to date with my brews. Currently, I’m on my second brew, muntons hand crafted american style ipa. I’ll let you all know how it goes and I’ve already gotten some great advice in the begginer forums.

I have interest in making all grain brew sometime in the future and maybe mead as well.

As for farmhouse brews, do you mean sahti? That is a very traditional beer often brewed for festivals, weddings etc. Nowadays made mostly on farmlands. Strangely enough however, it is quite rare over here commercially. It is something I am hoping to make someday though. Once I’m confident enough that is. ;)

Hello. I'm half fin. Fin-ish. From an island near porvoo originally.
Was gonna hit up a sahti some point soon.
