Hi All!
My name is Deb and I'm really excited to be brewing. Just started my first brew last week, hope to learn alot and would like to eventually do really cool local brews, perhaps even grow my own hops. I love hazy IPAs! I'm a cook and have fermented foods extensively, but just took to drink again (lol) after many years so I'm pumped to be playing with this new medium. Wish me luck on my first... just posted my first question as well.

Welcome from Bangor! I've been brewing (mostly all-grain) for just over a year now, and this if for sure the best hobby I have ever taken up. I'm not a professional trained cook, though I have cooked in a couple eating establishments in the (ancient) past. I continue to cook at home because I love tasty food, and I like to cook and eat food that tastes the way I like it. Homebrewing beer for me is just a natural extension of that, because I love flavorful beer, I can craft something that appeals to me taste-wise, and continue to tweak it as I learn and time goes on - just as with cooking.

If you like your own cooking, you will love your own beer. It just tastes better and it so much more satisfying.

Welcome from a southern neighbor. Formerly a Maine resident, I still spend a night there with my animals just before the opening of the Cumberland County Fair.

Welcome to the forums. There is a ton of information on this site and many good folks to help you when you need it. Word of warning though, brewing can quickly become an obsession! Enjoy it.
