Hey guys!

Totally new guy here who just opened up his first bottle of home brew. Now I am totally hooked. I want to do more, learn a lot more and make this a fun hobby!

I am here to hopefully learn some great tips and tricks - and hopefully makes some great brews!

Welcome, fellow Chicagolandian!

I tell every new brewer this: attend a beer club meeting at least once to see if you like it. My friend and I got into homebrewing and we read a lot of stuff here on HBT, and brewing was fun, but the hobby got so much more fun when he and I decided to go to a local beer club and check it out. We shared our samples of beer and asked people how we could improve them and they gave us a lot of helpful advice. We also got to taste a lot of other homebrewer's experiments and found out that we weren't the only ones with problems! But tasting their problems too and finding out what they were and how to avoid them helped us a lot as well. And the sense of camaraderie is great as well.

Anyway...good luck with your new hobby! You will learn so much from this site.
