Hello from hot and dry Texas! Happy Independence Day. I've been brewing Mr. Beer for almost a year now and wanted to step up a bit. Just got a starter kit today off craigslist for $50. Pretty good deal. Watching a friend brew tomorrow and will be doing my first mini-mash chocolate stout in the next couple of weeks. Looking forward to the new addiction.

Chocolate Stout was the first beer I brewed myself. It was an extract kit and turned out fantastic (after NOT being patient enough to let it bottle condition.) Anyways, welcome to the hobby!

Welcome to the hobby. There are a ton of homebrewers close to you doing all kinds of brewing. If you ever want to come out and watch a brew let me know, I brew 10 gallon all grain batches every few weeks.
