New homebrewer here. I'm currently stationed in Germany, so it took a long time to receive all my equipment and get ready to brew, but I just recently bottled a NB Caribou Slobber. Aside from some of the bottle caps not fitting on my empty German beer bottles, the beer turned out great.

I look forward to continuing my brewing while here in Germany and I'm especially excited to get back to the States and actually have options for in-person homebrewing stores and quick shipping times from websites.

Prost!

Howdy! My dad's side is from Upper Bavaria. Came here on the Pink John & William in 1734. I'd love to get over there to see it. I wonder how available German malts & hops are over there?

Little jealous I never got to be stationed there while I was in. What branch are you in?

Well, there's one German homebrewing website I know of: http://www.hobbybrauerversand.de/. They sell a decent amount of equipment and ingredients, some of which are German malt and hops. There is also another website: http://amihopfen.com/, which sells various malts and hops. I haven't purchased from either (yet), but I have heard good things about them. My only problem will be that I'm obviously an extract homebrewer, until I can get an all-grain setup back in the States. So therefore, I can really only benefit from buying German hops, which I intend to do.
