Greetings from the Corn Belt.....started my first batch last friday. the lucrative part for me was the incredibly low initial investment. i knew a couple who attempted winemaking and fizzled out (quite predictably), and i was lucky enough to be given free items such as gallon and 6 gallon glass carboys, stoppers, airlocks, hydrometer, etc. and much more. so basically the ingredients was all it took for me to be off and running. needless to say this forum has been a goldmine of information for someone getting started, and happy to be a member
