Hello All:

I'm new to HBT but have been brewing all grain brews for a little over a year now. I usually brew with my buddy who worked at O'fallon Brewery in MO (we are both in N. VA now) so I've learned a lot from him. I generally stick to brewing a hoppy IPA but I hope to experiment a bit more. I look forward to reading everyones insight and hope to learn a lot.

Hey I'm new to HBT and to brewing. I just bottled my first batch of Dogfish head 60min clone yesterday! Very excited, its going to be awesome! So now I'm thinking of another kit I might want to try. I love hoppy IPA's... do you have any advice on what batch I should brew next? I currently think I would have to say that New Beligium's RANGER is my favorite right now! I go to a home brew stop near by, their kits are on ebrew.com this is the only place I have seen to buy kits from describing what it might be similar to. Any advice???

Welcome! I am also new to the site. I just cloned the Stone IPA, one of my favorites, and it turned out GREAT! The smell and finish are dead on - but there's that "pop" in the middle of all Stone's beers that is lacking...must be some big secret. Try the book "Clone Brews" - Stone IPA is page 302...hoppy brewing!

Lindsayshi:

I'm a huge fan of that Ranger IPA and a bigger fan of 60 Minute when on draft (we take a yearly summer trip to Rehoboth, DE) beach and brew, can it get any better. I am drinking probably the same clone right now if you bought it from Annapolis Home Brew.

If you haven't made the Surly Furious clone from Northern Homebrewers yet I highly recommend it. It's better than the 60 Minute clone IMO. It's called Ferocious IPA, I'd link to it but not sure if the forum allows that kind of thing since I'm new.

Hope this helps
