Hope this is in the right forum...I've been brewing throughout the summer and have no plans to slow down. My concern is, without a good place to do this anywhere other than my garage, my propane burner doesn't seem like a good answer for the winter. I'm wondering if anyone has a good recommendation for an electric burner that I can use during the cold months so I don't have to either try to use my propane set up outside or risk killing myself with fumes using it in the garage. I do all 5 gallon batches and use a stainless 15 gallon brew pot. Anyone know of a solid solution to this problem?

I agree with kombat. I brew in my shed all year. During the winter months, I leave the service door open if the wind is blowing or its really cold.

For your original question, I looked for a while for a hot plate device to do the same thing. If I recall, they would require extensive electrical work, for my location, and cost quite a bit of money. Much more than I was willing to spend.

I live in an apartment in Canada and I brew even in winter. I freeze my balls off on the balcony but it worth it.

But for an electrical hot plate, it's normally not strong enough. People usually have heating elements in their kettle when they do electrical brewing.
