I'm going to San Diego for work next week and gunna be there for about a month. i'm not sure how much free time I'll have there but I definitely want to do some beer related sight seeing. Any suggestions about where to go?

San Diego is a great beer city. Be sure to get to the Stone Brewery north of the city, its a bit of a drive, but well worth it. There are a bunch of smaller breweries and brew pubs around too, but Stone really stood out.

What part of the city are you going to be in? Will you have a car? There are a TON of great breweries here, but it's a big city.

Off the top of my head, a few places to Google:

Green Flash
Port Brewing/Lost Abbey
Stone
Alpine Brewing
Ballast Point (multiple locations)
Iron Fist
Latitude 33
Pizza Port (great pizza AND great beer)

Oh Man- don't get me started.

Near my house (south county, Miramar area) there are a bunch of MUST VISIT breweries:

Green Flash
Alesmith
Hess (reppin' the nanos)
Ballast Point Old Grove location
Karl Strauss Brewery Gardens (nice spot for a family dinner)

Also nearby is Wet 'n Reckless (wouldn't recommend, but a personable proprietor) and Rough Draft (forgettable, too fancy for my taste haha)

Stone is a Must-See as well, honestly if you're going to be in North County and can only see one brewery, go to Stone. Awesome food, good tour, great grounds, neat building, epic beer selection. Make an afternoon of it.
Also in North County there's Lost Abbey/Port Brewing, a great brewpub called the Breakwater in Oceanside, a few nanos like On the Tracks and Mother Earth.

Others to check out if you're near them (doesn't sound like you know where you'll be yet):
Alpine, Automatic, Amplified.

Those are just my favorites- there's about a billion more. Got to give 1st priority to my SoCo homeboys (and girls) because I think they're doing the best work in the county right now and a little underappreciated.

Alesmith
Rough Draft
Société
Just to add a few more there are many!

And as a homebrewer I say White Labs is a MUST. Probably the single best thing to happen to us local homebrewers they take the same batch and ferment it with different yeasts. You truly get an understanding of what the different yeasts do. They do tours as well.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I know Stone is definitely on my list. Hopefully I can check out most of the other places mentioned but it really depends on my work schedule. I'd hate to have a potentially great beer vacation ruined by work!

Not to mention an endless list of great brew pubs. When you get here tell us where you are located and whether you have transportation and someone will tell you of the places near you.
