Heading to Breckenridge

Going for one day with an overnight and leaving the next morning. Our place is caddy corner to Breckenridge Brewery so thats a given. Not doing any skiing and are just looking to do some bar hopping, window shopping, dinner kind of trip.
We're driving from Denver and it looks like the scenic route might be 285. Its longer but supposedly beautiful.

Any ideas?
Bars....cheap beer is always good.
Things to do for a day? Must see kind of thing...hiking is out. I heard there is a really nice river near main street?

My wife was looking at a horse driven sleigh ride and dinner deal...no idea whats thats all about

Will be there 2 days before THanksgiving...Think it will be snowy?

Outer Range is a must. You’ll go right by it (Frisco) on your way to Breck. If you’re into cocktails Modis has a killer cocktail menu and Mi Casa has stellar Mexican and margs, both in Breck.

I was just going to say the same, pretty sure there’s no “cheap” beers anywhere in CO especially not slope towns.

I figured as much. Ski town. Thats why I said "window" shopping LOL...beers are a whole different story...I like cheap beer. I'll hit a dive bar with the local brew if I can find one.
Once we settle in ( 5 minutes at the bar after we show up) we're not driving anywhere so I'm mostly concerned about in town Main st walking places to go. Seems like there might be some side street off the path places

Yes, that 285 route is nice. It takes a little longer but with traffic it could be quicker potentially. It's a nice drive and you will see some fourteeners if you look for them. On my 21st birthday I went to breck brewery Across the street from Coors Field. I never really fawned over their beers or food but it is a great place no doubt. Iirc there are a few other breweries that would be worth checking out. There are some great outlet stores in silverthorne. Also it is either frisco or silverthorne has a nice liquor store with really nice beer selection. Wife says its frisco, maybe called antlers. They will have some choice others like pliney for example. Also our overpriced but tasty colorado wine. Their cigar humidor is also good. This is kind of out off season if I am correct. Kind of skiing, but depending on snow not really, kind ofsnow shoe but same. I love snow shoing. Walkig around town is still plenty fun and window shopping is filled with hiking and moving. There's plenty of trails and lakes and mountains to climb but I don't know how passable they are right now. There's a bowling alley somewhere in the area that we went to once and was enjoyable. Use Google reviews to find a good hamburger place. The problem is a lot of the good places are filled. I think we went to a place called The Canteen recently and the hamburgers and food there were good. There are a few top end restaurants and they are really pretty and would definitely be worth the expense for the evening if you like that kind of dining. There's some decent beer selection in town I'm sure but you'll pay a little more. We have a lot of good ipas coming out of Denver as well as sours, but if you only drink from the mountain breweries up and down i 70 their beers are plenty good. We spent Thanksgiving there last year and had a marvelous time just enjoying the outdoors. There is definitely good Mexican food to be had in the area but Choose Wisely. We took the kids to Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory for ice cream cones and I don't recall it being too expensive. Anymore questions feel free? Wife just said they got feet of snow so the skiing might be good.

Be prepared for weather or traffic delay and plan well to avoid. On the way out of town on 285, stop at hamden warehouse liquor mart. Their beer selection is stupid including stuff like lawson sos and other east coast offerings depending on what they have. As well as weldwerks juicy bits, and odd 13 and melvin. They put the new arrivals at the far end of the case by where they walk in. Last the rec center in breck is nice.

Awesome! Thanks Apple. Ya we're looking for some good bars...I guess not cheap but whatever. Dinner is a different story. We'd like to go to a nice steakhouse maybe. Something on the higher end classy and scenic. Although it wouldnt be the first time if we planned something like that and were having such a good time at the bar we didnt want to stop and ended up eating endless apps for dinner...we kind of go with the flow.

Kind of quiet late day could equal going to the room and getting cleaned up for a nice evening.
Band at the base mountain bar and cranking and we might never leave....its a toss up

My wife is looking up beers online.
They're cheaper than at home LOL. I'm payin between $7 and $9 at bar for the average Goose Island type beer. Sounds like I'll be getting raped a tad less than I do at home

Have always wanted to go to the briar rose. The really gourmet cuisine is in vail if you like that and I can help you find world class restaurants there if you so seek. But the Briar Rose and Hearthstone are very well reputed and both look super pretty to me. A lot of places tout themselves as "steak places" in these towns but dont be fooled. They are tourist traps. The good places are fairly reasonable and well worth it. We ate lunch at the canteen as I mentioned and it is solid. There are also plenty of stores along the way that sell other party favors, obviously. Both alcohol and other party favors can affect people stronger at altitude or at least it seems that way.

Welcome! Yeah good views too, probably cant go wrong either way, these are nice places. Dont forget hamden warehouse on way out. Here is what I got tonight. 4noses whimsy is stupid good. Weldwerks new neipa, (they had plenty of fresh juicy bits). And great wine. They had two roads, lots of bells (new round here), and all kinds of other tasty treats. Sours, etc...shoot be careful or you will end up like the other bagilion people who have moved here. The beer selection in bars and restaurants are inexpensive and ridiculous. Hope you have a great trip. If there is lots of snow and you dont want to splash out for skiing, give snow shoeing a go. I love the tranquillity of it all. Please any other wants let me know, our timeshare is there.
