I'm originally from Oklahoma and grew up with Head Country BBQ sauce. It is an Okie staple food. I no longer live in OK but still keep a supply of it around. If your not an Okie and have had it consider yourself lucky, it's the best out there.
I have recently started to dabble in sauce making but can't get close. I've tried to keep the ingredients the same as the one listed on the Head Country bottle but it's never even close.
Does anyone have a recipe that is close to Head Country?
I suspect that you can't get there with a bottle of Heinz Ketchup. I think they make their own ketchup and add a ton of liquid smoke.
