Hey guys, I was just thinking of something and wanted to get everyone's thoughts on it.
Does everyone feel like it would be in the spirit of good sportsmanship if, for any reason, someone drops out once the season is underway, they should still send a bomber to the eventual winner? So dropping out would be equivalent to losing.
Say it's partway through the season and I see that I'm obviously not going to win. So I drop out and tell everyone I had a family emergency or something like that, but the real reason is because I knew I wouldn't win, and didn't want to have to send the eventual winner his prize. Not saying anyone here would pull a douchey move like that, but it could happen, even if the reason is legit.
I guess what I'm getting at is once the draft takes place, everyone playing at that time should be locked in to the agreement of sending the prize to the winner if they don't win, no matter what happens.
If we have 20 participants, then the winner should get 19 packages of beer.
I'm sure everyone agrees about this, but it was never put into writing in the rules, so I wanted to bring it up for discussion.

I figured that was the case anyhow

agreed that is how it should be.

I figured everyone was on the same page on that issue, but I just didn't want us to run into a problem down the line.
I've dealt with some people before that would probably say that since they had to drop out, they technically didn't lose. Or because they didn't play the full season, they don't believe they should have to send the winner anything.
But I would assume everyone here is better than that.

Well, the whole reason I brought it up is because I want to make sure I get all 19 beers when I win. I don't want anybody thinking they can short change me. :D

You couldn't handle my beer stash!

Hehe. I'm envisioning opening your beer cellar to be something like the outcome of when they opened the ark in Indiana Jones. ;)

Alright guys I'm trying to decide what kind of draft we want I got it it on custom right now should I leave it or do you want something different?

Schemy, there's a second league with spots still open.

Guys, I'm in Berlin Time (i.e EST + 6 ) which puts start of Draft past midnight my time.

It may be too late, but can you do it maybe 2-3 hours earlier?
If not, I guess I'll autodraft select if that's OK.

I've already made plans for 6 pm start, I can't go earlier. It's 5:30 now on a weekday and you're still up. ;)

So I guess that puts me on your skunky heiny list. :(
