Cappucino has milk -- you do know, I trust, you can't put milk in your beer?

Do you have any specific parameters you want to meet, like gravity/alcohol content, color (do you want it super dark or not).

The other thing you could do is search google for mocha cappuccino stout recipes. Prob have some ideas or something like it. (don't click on the second result from the top though, my computer told me the website may be dangerous)

Well, brewers I have this idea for a brew. Just, I have never tried to make a recipe before, so I am going to post what I want and see if there are any people with the abilty to put it together. A little punctuation would help, mon. I had to read your post 4 times before I figured out what you were saying/asking.

Try this: make the chocolate stout, then at the end of your boil, steep about 1/2 to 3/4 lb of freshly ground coffee for about 10 minutes. Don't boil the coffee. Or conversely, just pour some freshly brewed coffee directly into the pot -- again at the end of the boil.

The reason for not boiling the coffee is two-fold: 1) boiled coffee tastes bad; 2) you'll lose to much of the aroma.

There are 2 ways to produce a chocolate stout -- the best is to use chocolate malt. But if you want to get more adventurous and use real chocolate, be sure you are using baker's chocolate. And you are best off melting it in a double boiler first, then pouring the melted chocolate into your boiling pot.

well I posted in a another thread that I had the opportunity to talk to a brew master about this so I have some good things to work off of in a few weeks will go to LHBS and do some shopping I will keep you posted on what I do and use thank you for your help

there is no punctuation in brewing

haha- maybe not. But if I can't read it, I'm not going to be able to reply to a thread or a question.

I would hazard a guess that many of the more "experienced" of us are older, and don't read textspeak or posts without any punctuation.

At my age, I'm not going to kill myself trying to undertand something and then typing up a reply. I figure, if you want my input you'll make it so I can understand. I don't even read posts any more that don't use capital letters and punctuation. I'm too old, and life is too short! :D

I like that, "textspeak". I don't type anymore, i've lost the touch. My girlfriend is all about the texting so I am use to all that fancey talk on the phones.

At the risk of sounding like a curmudgeon, I agree with Yooper. I can't answer a question if I can't understand it. It is good practice to learn and use appropriate punctuation, capitalization, spelling, and so forth.

Teach your children to get in the habit of reading books at an early age: there is less of a chance their first tattoo will be mispelled.

Agreed! I also hate it when people randomly mix their caps and lower case liKe tHiS. Hate that! When I see someone doing that, using no punctuation or whatnot, I just skip reading it. I just get too annoyed.

Grumpy old people unite!

No but you can sweeten with lactose to get the milk effect...

OP: I'd say you're best bet is to find three seperate recipies...

Chocolate stout, Coffee stout, and Milk Stout

and try to blend the three in some recipe calculator like beer smith or one of the many online ones.

As to finding the balance hopefully someone here can help on that.
