This may be a little hasty, well actually no it is hasty as I have not researched whether my beef is warranted enough, but anyway...

You're not allowed to post about marijuana brewing but you're allowed to post about distilling?

Weed will be legal in Canada come October but distilling will still be illegal.

So, how does this make any sense?

Pretty sure home distilling isn't illegal in Canada. I don't distill, but just about every LHBS sells the equipment. My understanding is you're allowed to make it, just not sell it.

Moonshining is referred to as the process of producing high-proof distilled spirits or in other words, concentrating alcohol. In Canada, since 1984, laws have been passed around the country, which states, that it is illegal concentrate beer or wine without a license. Moonshining, brewing and distilling spirits and alcohol are an illegal business in Canada unless you get a permit. FYI, People selling the moonshine are the ones the police really go after.

Note: brewing your own beer or wine does not require a license; only produce for your own consumption; don’t sell it without a permit.

You can distill in some cases in the US, just usually methanol to be used as a fuel, or water.

Did a little browsing and it looks like distilling alcohol in Canada requires a federal license but nobody has ever been busted for distilling for personal use.

I think you're onto something here.

Not all distillation involves that of alcohol. The sign on the store says chat all things LEGAL distillation.

Furthermore, the basis for what is and is not legal is stated as that which is legal in the state of Texas.
