Hey all, not sure if this is the proper place for this question so feel free to let me know if I should post elsewhere.
I've been brewing beer for years, but decided I would try my first hard seltzer recipe today. Brought 2 gals RO water up to boiling, killed the flame and added 4.5 lbs of dextrose with the following minerals/salts based on a sparkling water brand I like:
As soon as the salts hit the water, it all turned yellow/orange (see image below). There was some sort of solid precipitate at the bottom of the kettle afterwards that I left out of the carboy. My question is, is the yellowing common/expected occurrence or did something go wrong?
Thanks in advance!
