Anyone ever brew with ,ahem, 420 "special" hops? I am totally guessing yes here.:D Just curious as to how it would taste...purely for medicinal purposes of course.

Yep. Used to be a ban-able offense to talk about it but now with all these states allowing recreational use I think it's ok. Maybe. @passedpawn would know.

I know I've seen threads here on it and basically the beer outcome is terrible. I bet if you used the search function something would come up.

Its terrible because people use it wrong =P. I've made it plenty of times and continue to for my patients. Using it in dry hop is the bomb, although your not getting much extraction from it. Just the flavor, which is why I do it. For the affect we just add rosin extract.

Most people honestly just think its really hoppy before I tell them its also dry hopped with it. But thats because they share very similar terpenes. Pinene, Limonene, Myrcene etc. Some strains have much higher contents of these terpenes then hops do as well.

I've mentioned it a few times in other threads so don't think its bannable but its not like I'm looking to start a thread to talk about the process or anything.

Nobody gets banned if they are cool. That never happened. We can talk about using herb in a beer. That's fine. Discussion of it in other ways, and any other refinement of it, is going to get removed.

No idea where this convo came from - my boy Ben was singing about Nag Champa incense, which I'm about to light up right now. I do two sticks at the same time because it's double-godly that way.

Carry on my brewing brethren!

Seriously, anyone have a recipe? There's some recipes online, but looking for comments about actual experience.
My preference would be to add the "special ingredient" during the boil or at flameout,
I've read that THC has low solubility in water. My apologies in advance if discussion of this is forbidden.

Incense!

My grandma used to burn incense.

She also lived in Florida...

Are you turning into my grandma, passed?

She brewed coffee while she was alive. I remember they had a percolator coffee maker. We had a Mr. Coffee, so hearing that percolator and the smell reminds me of her.

She lived in Holiday for some years. Maybe you saw her? She was older, with white hair and drove a Mercury Marquis.

Yea, I think I did. Drove real slow in left lane, right turn signal on, rush hour?

Hard to say. She sits about level with the dash and looks through the steering wheel. And she's got some kind of Minnie Pearl hat collection and a box of Kleenex on the deck under the rear window, I really can't see her.

Oh, that's not her, then. My grandma was the one wearing a headscarf.

My vague recollection is the term 420 was a police radio code, probably from some California jurisdiction, to notify of marijuana use.

i thought it was because everyone celebrates hitler's birthday? (with a joint)....

and nice photo of the pot plants, not often you see a pic letting people know they actually can grow in 'REAL' sunlight! (and living in mendo for a while, i can say a full sun plant will get you about 3lb's a plant!)

and also, can't find it now...but it's also a code for a barcode about something....always wondered why there was a 420 in front of my tracking number from the post office till i looked it up....
