Wow, that first video was quite impressive, and thought provoking. What would you do in that situation.

The second one was funny till it got nasty (like 1/4 way in haha)

That first video is unacceptable. It is despicable that they couldn't get that guy out of there for almost 2 days. As a side note, this is why I always have my charged cell phone on me when entering elevators...

That dude was a complete moron. it's really not that hard to get out of an elevator. That ceiling has a hatch I'm sure.

it was an express elevator.. only two stops.. 1st floor and 40th. He was stuck somewhere in between, and there was 20 stories of brick up and 20 stories of brick down before any door.

I especially liked at the end when the guy just comes in, looks around, and then puts up the sign. Probably not that funny, but the fast speed made me laugh.

I read an article about it, and the hatch on the top was locked from the outside. Its so rescue workers can get in from the top, but morons inside can't McClaine their way out.

Those were some of my first thoughts as well when I saw the video. But after reading the article, no one even knew he was in there. And as you can see when he tried to open the doors, there's nothing there.

I can't even imagine what that would be like, to be alone, without contact or entertainment for almost 2 days in such a confined space.

Oh, and if I was trapped in an elevator for a weekend you can be darn sure that there would be some damage to that thing.

It is far worse than that: no one even knew he was in the elevator. It took only about an hour to get him out once they noticed him.

OMFG, I have tears rolling down my face!

The parody version actually made me LOL multiple times.

I was waiting for him to lean into a corner and take a piss or something.....41 hours? thats a long time.

that's why he kept opening the elevator doors: he was pissing down the elevator shaft.

Hatch is locked from the outside-that is IF you could reach it to begin with. If you are on an express elevator-tough sh*t. Even as an elevator guy you ain't getting out.:cross:

I would have gone ape sh.it and torn that thing apart.

Therein lies the conundrum.

Go ape**** and potentially damage something and put yourself at more risk?

Going ape**** could start a fire, make whatever problem is occurring worse (after all--you have no idea why the elevator is stopped or if the elevator is at risk of falling down), knock out the camera (so noone ever sees you).... any numbe rof bad thigns could happen just going ape****.

Now--- strategic and specific willful damage? Yeah. But carefully considering the potential consequences. And do it sooner rather than later while you still have presence of mind to be in control of your activity and energy to do real damage.
