Mods, if this isn't acceptable please forgive my transgression but it's best if you email me at bmason1623 AT gmail DOT com

thank you.

EDIT: I modified the email address at the great suggestion of 1234. Thanks!

In case you were still waiting on a response.

Spreadsheet has been updated. Just one more payment pending then we're good to order. As usual, I will keep everyone updated.

P.S. I met RC0032...very, very nice guy. I look forward to meeting the rest of you.

Bill

OK. Everyone's payment has cleared. I just transferred the money from my paypal account to my bank account. I'm debating whether to wait for that transfer to clear then make a credit card purchase or just placing the order and sending a check to the distributor who will wait for it to clear. What's everyone's opinion on this? I thin we wont be getting grain in until the end of next week.

Whatever is easiest.

Paypal typically takes 2-3 days to clear. I'd pay by card so there are no delays on the vendor side.

Even if you're transferring your own money into your own bank account? That's way too long in my opinion. But I don't have much of a choice...

bmason, the payment method really just depends on how quickly we'll get the products. Personally, I wouldn't be able to put them to use until the weekend at the very earliest so whether the shipment arrives mid-week or end-week makes no difference to me. I vote on whatever is easiest or most comfortable for you, especially since you've put forth so much effort for this already.

Thanks!

I just emailed the distributor with a quick update. I told her that I was hoping to place the order by Tuesday.

I found this thread by accident and would like to participate. I'm not sure who to contact. Could someone pm so I can learn how to join in. I would buy a 55lbs bag of Maris otter.

Retro, you are too late for this first round. There will be another round in the future and you are free to participate then.

I would be more than happy to coordinate another purchaser for those who wanted to get in on this one but were either too late or just couldn't do it this time around. All I ask is that someone else handle the money. I'll take care of the entries, receiving and sorting of grains. I dont want to handle money unless I am also buying for myself. Just let me know.

I would be interested in the next group buy. I am going to try my first BIAB tomorrow. Could you send me the price list just so I could get an idea of the prices. I'd assume they will change a little bit by the time the next group buy goes down. Where we able to buy anything besides grains? Bottle caps, wax, etc...

I'll probably be down for another group buy relatively soon, maybe 2 months. Just do us a favor and mention something on this thread since I and many others are already subscribed to it.

Maybe if they see we're repeat customers then theyll let us buy other stuff too.

Beside grain they will sell only the following: Belgian Candi Syrup, DME, LME, Oak Spirals, Hops, and the Gilbert & Son items. I have a copy of the Home Brew Sales Book.

Thats great...they said no to us :rockin:

They will not sell you spices, that is what you guys requested right?

I wasn't the one who asked. I wanted spices, a split on DME, Belgian Candi Sugar, spices, hops and some nylon bags and it was relayed as a general "no" to non-grain items.

Maybe on next round we'll ask more specifically?

bmason, if you talk to them again it might be worth asking for clarification just as an FYI for next time...

They specifically said that they couldn't/wouldn't sell us Breiss grain or specialty items like hops, hop bags, sugars, etc. I will definitely ask again the next time we order, assuming that I'm heading the purchase again...
