I purchased one after seeing the deal on instagram... Such a killer deal! There is a rear port for an element in addition two the 3 front ports!

If I hadn't just bought my Spike 10 gallon kettle I would definitely be buying this. Just to clarify, there is one rear TC port for elemnt, 2 TC tangential ports, and then one front TC port for a drain? I'd imagine one of the tangential ports could be used for a thermowell?

Man. Do I need... Are the ports on this in awkward positions? Where does the electric element go, on the second port? Assuming bottom is for drain.

Looks like a great deal. I'm using a 9.5 gallon kettle for BIAB, and I wouldn't mind adding a few more gallons, with gallon markers and a ball valve spigot. I'm just not sure I need the extra ports. The temperature gauge is probably more harm than good in BIAB, and I'd probably use Induction rather than an element when I move to electric. So I'd have a few ports to plug.

It's a great price though, and it looks like a beautiful kettle.

Basically, the cheapest thing you could do with TC fittings would be a clamp ($7) gasket ($2) and blank cap ($4). So, $13 per port, $52 total. If you want valves, pickup tubes, etc, you could easily spend more on the fittings than you do on the kettle, but the possibilities are endless.

It would depend on how high the port is relative to your liquid level. The description says it has 2 whirlpool port so you could use one for a the steamslayer. I am waiting to see how high it it. I do BIAB and would probably have about 12 gal during the boil for a 10 gal batch.

Yeah I ended up buying a second one... I would eventually like to go all electric so for the cost there is no harm in holding onto a second kettle for when I go all in

Was thinking the same. Figured I can HOPEFULLY find a simple controller for cheap and just try this as a 1 vessel machine and see if I can get it to work. Thought anyway, lets see if I can make it work. Now to start researching that.

Not sure where I’m going to find a pick up tube for the front hole.
