Greetings,
I just recieved a kit for Christmas, saw this forum while searching for more information. I'm going to try my hand at a Christmas beer, and I'm sure I can use all the help and advice I can get!

Welcome. Did you get a book with your kit? If not I recommend getting one before you brew. It will answer a lot of questions. You will also find a ton of information here.
You should have no problem brewing good beer on your first batch.

I did receive a slim(!) booklet and a one page "just do this and you'll be fine" instruction sheet written by the practicing owners of the shop, but I'll probably head out first thing tomorrow and pick up a copy of "How to Brew"!
