Hello all.. i'm new to this forum and homebrewing. I just made my first batch of IPA and I will be bottling in 2 days. My next project will be a Blood Orange Hefeweizen and possibly a Vanilla Cream Ale.
Anyone ever use Coconut for their brews? Are there any recipes out there involving coconut that turned out well for anyone?
I look forward to meeting a lot of you.
Cheers,
Fin

Aloha, Eastern MD friend!

I'm in the Baltimore region, always willing to take a jaunt out to the "sher".

Coconut... hmm... I think someone was once talking about a "german chocolate cake" beer, which is chocolate, coconut, and maybe caramel? Ah, here's the thread!

Let me know if you go forward with this beast.

Thanks for the info and thread. It looks as if some experienced brewers still have no idea how to use coconut so I will certainly hold off for now. I'm still learning my way around a carboy.
Up next is a Blood Orange Hefeweizen knock-off from Dogfish.
Will you be attending the Allagesh/Russian River thingy at The Brickskeller this month? Russian River does some amazing beers.

Hey, I am from Md's eastern shore also. Kent Island to be exact.

Sounds like you are making some fancy stuff. Maybe I will one day, but am just learning now.

I am enjoying my first Pale Ale right now though.

Have a nice night,

Eric
